Customer Service Training:
Great Customer Service Will Help You Survive These Trying Times

You know that providing excellent customer service can be the catalyst that makes the difference between someone buying from you or buying from someone else. And in these trying economic times, customer service is even more important. It can help you make raving fans out of your customers who will talk about your business and spread your sales message for you.

An excellent example of this is a situation a fellow business owner, Paulette Ensign, encountered this weekend. She went shopping at her local grocery store to pick up some steak for dinner. When she got to the checkout, she noticed that the cash register rang up $1 more than the price on the package and she mentioned it to the store manager. Rather than giving her a $1 refund (a normal customer service response), the store manager gave her the entire steak absolutely free. Yep, you read that right -- free. A long-term business owner, Paulette was very impressed by this action and told all her twitter followers about it. And you can bet she'll tell even more people.

Your customers do that too. Every time you are faced with a customer service situation, consider what you can do to make your customer a raving fan instead of just satisfying the situation.
